Who we are
LaunchPath is a church planting roadmap operated by Doug Foltz Consulting, LLC, an Illinois limited liability company (“we”, “us”). The service is at churchplantingchecklist.com.
Questions about this policy, or requests about your data, go to privacy@churchplantingchecklist.com.
What we collect
We collect only what the product needs to work:
- Account details — your name and email address, and a password you choose. Passwords are stored hashed by our authentication provider; we never see them.
- What you put into the product — your plant’s name and launch date, task statuses, due dates, notes, comments, any files you attach, your vision statement, and the vitals and monthly numbers you record on your scorecard.
- Your team — the names and email addresses of people you invite as team members or coaches, and which plant and role each holds.
- Billing details — whether a plant holds a licence and when it expires, plus identifiers from our payment processor. We never receive or store your card number. Card details go directly to Stripe.
- Basic technical logs — standard server and error logs kept by our hosting provider for security and debugging.
We do not sell your data, we do not use it to train AI models, and we do not run advertising.
A note about the people you invite
When you invite a team member or coach, you give us their email address before they have agreed to anything. We use it only to send that invitation and, if they accept, to run their account. If someone you invited wants their details removed, they (or you) can ask at the contact address above and we will delete them.
Please only enter information about other people that they would expect you to share. Task notes and comments are visible to everyone on that plant’s team, including any coach assigned to it — so they are not the place for confidential pastoral care records.
Why we can use it
We process your data to provide the service you asked for and to charge for it (contract), to keep the service secure and working (legitimate interests), and where the law requires us to keep records (legal obligation). Where consent is the basis — for example optional email — you can withdraw it at any time.
Who else processes it
We use a small number of established providers. Each acts on our instructions and none of them receives your data for their own purposes:
- Supabase — database and sign-in.
- Vercel — application hosting.
- Stripe — payments. Stripe handles card details directly; we receive only the result and non-sensitive identifiers.
- Resend — transactional email (invitations, notifications, reminders).
These providers store data in the United States. If you are outside the US, using LaunchPath means your data is transferred there.
If you connect an AI assistant
LaunchPath offers an optional connector that lets an AI assistant (such as Claude) read and update your plant on your behalf. This is off unless you turn it on and sign in to authorise it.
If you do, the assistant’s provider will receive whatever plant data it requests in order to answer you — and that provider’s own privacy terms apply to it, not ours. You can revoke the connection at any time. We recommend not connecting an assistant to a plant containing information you would not want a third party to process.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. A licence lasts 18 months, but your progress, notes and team stay saved after it lapses, so you can pick up where you left off if you renew.
If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except records we must keep for tax and accounting purposes.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy. If you are in the UK, EU, or a US state with its own privacy law, you may have additional rights, including the right to complain to your local regulator. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of them.
Write to the contact address above and we will respond within 30 days.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access to your plant is enforced in the database itself, not only in the interface, so another organisation cannot read your plant even if the app were asked to show it to them. No system is perfect, and we do not claim otherwise — if a breach affects you, we will tell you.
Children
LaunchPath is for adults running a church plant and is not directed at children. Please do not create accounts for under-16s. If you record information about minors in your plant’s notes, you are responsible for having a lawful basis to do so.
Changes
If we change this policy materially, we will update the date at the top and notify account holders by email. Continuing to use LaunchPath after a change means you accept it.
